The Xerox DocuMate 6480 is a duplex ADF scanner with a spacious input tray that can hold up to 120 sheets at a time, designed for efficient high-volume scanning. It has an optical resolution of up to 600 dpi, a maximum scan area of 8.5 x 236" at 200 dpi, and accepts media as wide as 9.5" such as dot-matrix paper. The unit digitizes documents at 88 ppm at 200 dpi and 80 ppm at 300 dpi, and connects to the computer via USB 3.0 for quick data transmission.

Speed

Load up to 120 mixed-sized documents into the document feeder and scan them at speeds of up to 176 images (88 pages) per minute, through a high-speed USB 3.0 connection. When you use the software in the bundled suite from Visioneer and ABBYY®, scanning will be completed quickly, and the resulting files may even look better than the originals.

Reliability

The paper feeding mechanism's active reversing rollers and ball bearings improve reliability and provide a maximum daily duty cycle of 11,000 pages. An advanced light array increases the number of light sources from one to 45, resulting in superior lighting and superior images. By detecting paper thickness between documents, Ultrasonic Multi-Feed Detection allows you to correct the overlapped paper. If two documents are detected, the user will be prompted to make any necessary changes before the scan resumes, ensuring that every page is captured. The scanners also include built-in features like de-skew and auto-crop, which save your CPU's precious processing power and allow it to receive images at high speeds.

Searchability

The DocuMate 6480 will automatically convert your scans into searchable PDF files so you can find them when you need them. The scanners use Visioneer OneTouch technology to instantly scan documents to one of the nine predefined but completely customizable destinations. Visioneer OneTouch manages your document management workflows by scanning in data with the best resolution, color, duplex, auto-crop, auto-straighten, and file format settings, and then delivering it to virtually any application, folder, or device at the touch of a button. Perfectly scanned documents are delivered in a searchable PDF format to email, Microsoft SharePoint, or a custom web application using Acuity image-enhancing software.

Versatility

The DocuMate 6480 scanner, like its predecessor, features an adjustable document feeder that can accommodate 9.5-inch wide documents and scan paper up to 236 continuous inches long, as well as automatically trimming out margin holes from the final scanned image. When scanning dot matrix tractor feed paper or long medical chart printouts, this comes in handy.
