The new Xerox D70n scanner is a departmental scanner with ultra-high speed and reliability, as well as scanner sharing via USB 3.1 and Ethernet connections. One-touch scanning and Visioneer and ABBYY PC software for multiple users are presented to walk-up users on a high-resolution color display. Speeds of up to 90 pages per minute / 180 images per minute, a 15,000 daily duty cycle, a 100-sheet ADF, a wide paper path, and dual-motor, reversing-roller paper handling ensure high performance.

Distributed Workplace Needs

The global environment of today, as well as the growing virtual workforce, has accelerated digital transformation. To complete the paperless, cloud-based workplace, people require fast and shared network technology. Traditional USB scanners, on the other hand, require a one-to-one connection to a single PC. Network-only scanners lack the breadth of scanning software found on PCs and laptops. MFPs are rarely equipped with dedicated document scanners' dependable paper handling, capacity, and speed. Furthermore, centralized production scanning and archiving environments are being shifted to distributed offices and even home-based workers.

A New Solution

The Xerox D70n Scanner is designed for use in modern workgroup/departmental settings. The Xerox D70n is an optimized and dedicated scanning device that can support up to five concurrent Ethernet connections to PCs. It is built on a proven hardware and electronics platform. It can also be used by PC-based software in the same way that any other TWAIN-based scanner can.

Rugged Reliability

The D70n Scanner has a daily duty cycle of 15,000 pages, which is up to three times that of competing for departmental scanners. Our award-winning reverse-roller, dual-motor paper path eliminates jams, making this possible. Ultrasonic double-sheet detection is pre-installed. Hard cards and paper widths up to tractor-fed paper are supported by the 100-sheet automatic paper feeder.

Speed Demon

The D70n has production scanning speeds of up to 90 pages per minute / 180 images per minute. This level of throughput can lead to bottlenecks between the paper selection and the final scan file. We've designed an end-to-end speed approach to ensure true full-speed scanning. The D70n is equipped with a custom "system in a chip" image processor that handles common scan algorithms in hardware. USB 3.1 Gen 1 or Gigabit Ethernet connections offer wide data pipelines to the connected PCs, and Visioneer's Acuity PC optimization uses smart logic to use as much PC power as is available to complete the final image processing and file creation. These scanning speeds are appropriate for distributed batch paper, mailroom, and archiving environments.

Sharing Is Good

With USB and Network connections, multiple people can connect with the D70n Scanner concurrently from any PC connected to the network, thanks to Visioneer VAST Network© technology with TWAIN Direct©. The Visioneer Intelligent Software Platform is available to each user. Visioneer OneTouch offers custom scan workflows at the touch of a button. Visioneer Capture SE handles custom scan batches and scan-to-cloud features. Full-version ABBYY® FineReader software handles OCR and PDF file editing. Each user can customize their experience and select the specific applications needed to suit their document capture needs.
